Inter close to the top of the Italian league after beating Venezia
Inter Milan won a valuable victory outside its bases against Venezia, with two clean goals, in the 14th round of the Italian Football League, to maintain its third place in the standings.
Inter took control of the match against Venezia, who returned to the top flight after an absence of nearly two decades. Inter waited until the 34th minute, before advancing after a series of quick passes at the edge of the penalty area, to reach the ball to Calhanoglu, who fired a powerful low shot into the net (d.34).
Venezia’s Antonio Vaca hit a powerful ball that was saved by Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic in the 39th minute. After the break, the host created a dangerous opportunity, but substitute Taner Tesman threw the ball high.
In the lost time, Inter got a penalty, after returning to the VAR technology due to a handball against Ricciano Habs, which was successfully executed by Lautaro Martinez.
With this victory, Inter reduced the difference with the leading clubs Napoli and Milan to one point, before the two teams played on Sunday, while the defeat left Venezia in 15th place in the standings.
