Jamaica’s Thompson wins 200m gold in Tokyo Olympics

Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Hera completed her double-sprint win in athletics at the Tokyo Olympics by winning the women’s 200 meters on Tuesday, in a time of 21:53.

Thompson-Hera dominated the race from the start, but Namibia’s Christine Mbumba delivered a stunning performance in the last 30 meters, claiming the silver in 21:81.

American Gabi Thomas won the bronze after she finished the race in 21:87 seconds to beat Shelley-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the silver medalist in the 100 meters, who clocked 21:94 seconds.

Elaine Thompson-Hera won gold in the women’s 100 meters with a time of 10:61.
