Manchester United overtakes Brighton and maintains the Premier League rankings

Mason Greenwood led his Manchester United side, converting a goal behind into a thrilling 2-1 victory over Brighton in the Premier League, on Sunday.

Danny Welbeck scored against his former team in the 13th minute, then Jacob Moder missed an opportunity to boost the visitors’ lead when he hit the crossbar and left the field.

Moder came close to scoring before the break for Brighton, but Rashford took advantage of Bruno Fernandez’s pass and hit the ball to equalize in the 62nd minute.

Brighton striker Neil Mobay missed an opportunity in front of the goal in the 72nd minute, before Greenwood received a high pass from Paul Pogba, and scored with his head in the 83rd minute despite an attempt by a defender Lewis Dunk to keep her away.

Brighton pressed in the final minutes, but United maintained the victory to receive a big boost in finishing the season in the semi-finals.

With this victory, United strengthened their position in second place with 60 points from 30 games, and 14 points ahead of Manchester City, who played 31 games.

United is 4 points ahead of Leicester City in third place. Brighton remains 16th at 32 points, 6 points behind the relegation zone.
