Triple decision to determine what Salah will do next summer?

The coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, Shawky Gharib, revealed, on Wednesday, that the participation of Mohamed Salah, the English star, in the Tokyo Olympics next summer, is a “triple decision.”

Shawky Gharib said in an interview with Agence France-Presse: “The decision to join Mohamed Salah to the team is a tripartite decision, first a technical decision from me personally, then an administrative decision from Liverpool FC and its German coach Jürgen Klopp, then the player himself’s desire to participate with us in the Olympics.”

He added, “Salah’s joining the team in the Olympiad is a move by the state, represented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Football Association and the technical staff, in search of an Olympic medal that will be the first in the history of Egyptian football’s participation in the Olympiad.”

And about whether there is communication between the coach and the player, Gharib said, “I announced my desire and wish that Salah is with us in the Olympics, and the player did not announce his refusal, which means that he has the desire to participate with us.”
