Businessman Elon Musk, founder and director of Tesla, announced on Wednesday that the company’s cars can now be purchased using the digital currency Bitcoin, with the option available outside the United States, later this year.
Musk said, in a tweet on Twitter: “You can now buy a Tesla car in Bitcoin. The Bitcoin currency paid to Tesla will not be converted into paper currencies.”
The decision is the second step Tesla takes to support cryptocurrencies this year, as the company bought, last month, Bitcoin coins worth $ 1.5 billion and announced the near acceptance of Bitcoin as a payment method for buying its cars, which led to an increase in the price of the most famous cryptocurrency in the world.
It is not a secret of anyone’s secret that Musk has wide support for cryptocurrencies, especially at the level of the two currencies, Bitcoin and the rising Dogecoin.
