Benevento dealt a heavy blow to Juventus’ hopes for the Serie A title, when it defeated its hosts with the goal of Adolfo Jaic, on Sunday, to put an end to his absence from victories in 11 consecutive matches.
The Argentine pounced on a wrong pass from Juventus midfielder Artur Melo, to put the ball in the net in the 69th minute, and the owner failed to score the goalkeeper Lorenzo Montebo.
Juventus remained in third place, ten points behind leaders Inter Milan, with 11 rounds to go.
Benevento boosted his hopes of survival, seven points off the relegation zone in 16th.
Juventus, led by coach Andrea Pirlo, has not lost in the last five league games but has failed to outperform his former AC Milan teammate, coach Filippo Inzaghi, even though the owner of the land shot nine times on target for one-shot by Benevento.
