Lukaku puts Inter at the top of the Calcio ahead of Milan

Italian club Inter Milan, it’s neighbor AC Milan, removed from the top of the league before the upcoming confrontation between them next Sunday, after Inter resolved their strong confrontation with Lazio 3-1 thanks to a double and a decisive pass from the Belgian Romelu Lukaku in the twenty-second stage.

After leaving the cup semi-finals in the middle of the week at the hands of his other arch-opponent Juventus by a 0-0 draw in Turin (losing 1-2 at home), coach Antonio Conte’s team found itself in front of the opportunity to sit on top after a loss to Milan on Saturday. 2-0 in front of Spezia.

“Nerazzurri” took advantage of the opportunity to the fullest, despite facing a team coming from 6 consecutive victories, and raising his tally to 50 points in the lead, one point ahead of Milan, distancing at the same time from Juventus, the defending champion, by 8 points after the latter’s loss to Napoli 1-0.

On the other hand, the series of Lazio club victories stopped, and it suffered its first defeat in the last 8 stages, specifically since the loss to Milan 2-3 on December 23, and its balance stuck at 40 points in sixth place.

After a cautious start from the two teams and shy attempts at the two goals, with the exception of one for Inter via Argentine Lautaro Martinez, whose attempt passed alongside the left post, the latter made the difference when he snatched a penalty kick from Dutch Wesley Hoydt during his trip to alone with Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and Lukaku successfully set it off (22).

Lazio pressed after the goal in search of an equalizer but was unable to threaten the Slovenian goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic, who was playing his 500th game in the Italian League, which made him the fifteenth player to reach this number and the second foreigner-only in the history of “Serie A” after the former Argentine Inter player. Javier Zanetti (615).

At the end of the first half, Inter scored his second goal through Lukaku, who found himself in front of the goal after the ball rebounded to him from Lazio Manuel Lazari, and he shot it into the net (45), so Lukaku raised his score to 16 goals, and shared the top scorers’ standings with Juventus star Cristiano. Ronaldo.

In the second half, coach Simone Inzaghi’s men tried hard to return to the match and succeeded in achieving their goal with a free-kick by Sergey Milinkovic Savic, who switched from his Argentine substitute teammate Gonçalo Escalante and deceived the goalkeeper Handanovic (61).

But Inter frustrated the resolve of its guest when he snatched the third goal of a counterattack that started from his penalty area through Brozovic, then the ball reached Lukaku, who advanced it for a long-distance before reflecting it on a silver platter to Martinez who deposited it in the net (64), scoring his eleventh goal in League yet.
