Why did Chelsea choose the German coach Tuchel?

It has become official; Thomas Tuchel, who was sacked from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last year, has been appointed as Chelsea’s coach.

Having to take off his hat in Paris Saint-Germain is still a mystery, as it cannot really be due to his lack of success in his job, as he managed to lead the team for the first time in its history to the Champions League final. What Tukhel achieved with the Parisian club may be the reason behind Chelsea hiring him as coach of the “Blues”.

European football throne

Alexander Abramovi – – a billionaire who has owned Chelsea since 2003 – has ambitions for his club to reign supreme in European football.

Although the team won the European Champions League for the first and only time in 2012, achieved victory in the European League in 2019, and won the English championship in 2017, the club currently ranks only ninth in the English League.

Chelsea hopes to change the course and take advantage of the contracts and the huge money that he spent last summer to sign players such as the Germans Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, and to achieve this goal may be the magic key to that.

He is known for his high energy, his ability to motivate the team and create a comfortable atmosphere among the players, and his skill in attacking plans, which made him a great European coach, as described by the British newspaper “The Mirror”.

It is expected that Tuchel will be able to change the approach of his predecessor Lombard, by relying on the play of strong pressure and fast attacking football which is likely to be the new standard – at least in theory – for Chelsea at home at Stamford Bridge.
