After Sony’s Vision-S electric car first appeared, we thought it was just a fictional model from the company and that it would never come out. But over the past year, there has been a lot of news about it, including Sony’s announcement that it will officially start testing it on public roads by the end of 2020.
2020 passed, but the company fulfilled its promise and began showing its Vision-S electric car on public roads while participating in CES 2021.
And the leading Japanese technology company revealed that it began testing the electric-powered vehicle in Europe last December, and we shared a video of the car driving on Austrian roads, while the AirPeak drone, which was also revealed by Sony, shared it with us.
Sony had announced the Vision-S for the first time at CES 2020, and the prototype we saw at the exhibition featured two 200-kilowatt engines and had an acceleration power from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.8 seconds.
At the time, Sony clarified that the car has level two autonomous driving technologies and that it plans to make it fully autonomous in the future.
It is worth noting that Sony is not the only technology company that tests the capabilities of electric cars at the present time, as there have been reports recently of cooperation between Hyundai and Apple to work on the production of an electric Apple car, which may come out within 5 years from now.
