United States of America: Kilauea volcano spewing lava fountains on the Big Island of Hawaii

Lava fountains were seen pouring from Kilauea volcano on Sunday and Tuesday on the Big Island of Hawaii as the eruption intensified on the northwestern side of the Halema`uma`u Crater.

The continuous volcano eruptions prompted local authorities to issue warnings about volcanic smog levels in the West Hawaiian Islands, where levels of sulfur dioxide and other gases are being tested closely.

A few days after Kilauea volcano erupted on the Big Island of Hawaii, the effects of the natural disaster formed a lava lake that can even be seen from space.
